If you’ve ever wondered what came before dinosaurs, look no further. Yes, this was the era of six-foot-long flat centipedes, giant cockroaches, and extra-weird plants.  And of course, the many interesting ancestors of both the dinosaurs and, yes, us.  This book has lots of good information and very funny cartoons.  Only the dragonflies and the cockroaches have survived in our world from this time (luckily not the giant ones), but here you can learn all about the many interesting inhabitants of the early Earth.  Plus, learn the answer to the question “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” I would read this book just for that.  If you like this book, check out the sequel: When Fish Got Feet, Sharks Got Teeth, and Bugs Began to Swarm.
