To Fly: The Story of the Wright Brothers

People are not birds, but this does not stop us from wanting to fly. Nowadays, of course, you can just get on a plane—and you can do this because Orville and Wilbur Wright finally figured out how to invent them. The Wright brothers ran a bicycle shop in Dayton, Ohio, and loved fooling around with gliders and other flying machines. They also loved to argue and solve problems together, tossing their ideas back and forth until they came up with the solution. This is a lovely book about them and how they figured out one of the great problems that had stumped the best minds for thousands of years—how to make a machine that could let people fly. Wheeeeee!
