Inside the Beagle with Charles Darwin by Fiona Macdonald

This is another book about Charles Darwin and the voyage of the Beagle, done in a different style, sort of a cross between an encyclopedia and a comic book. This book focuses more on this one voyage and on the discoveries Darwin made in the South Seas. You learn more about some of the other people on the voyage, and the ship itself, and what other scientists were doing, and there is a good explanation of Darwin’s theory of evolution and how it works. But if you want to read Darwin’s notes or descriptions, you might like The Tree of Life by Peter Sis. I like to read then both side by side.
