Wise Guy: The Life and Philosophy of Socrates

"All I know is that I know nothing."   –Socrates
Socrates was a short, rude, funny-looking ancient Greek philosopher, who liked to ask questions all the time. What is happiness? How do we know what is good? And what makes a chair a chair? Socrates thought asking questions about everything was the only way to become wise, and that having a lot of questions was much more important than having answers. In fact, he once said that he was wiser than all the other philosophers because at least he knew that he knew nothing. This is a jolly book all about playful Socrates and his ideas. On every page there's also an in-depth extras box that tells you more about his ideas and the history of Greece, in case you have more questions. Which of course we do!
