Make Your Own Pet Rock!

Would you like a pet that's easy to care for, doesn't eat much, and won't keep you up at night? How about a nice pet rock? For this month's contest, find a rock that might make a good pet. Get to know your rock—can you tell what kind of rock it is? Is it hard, flaky, shiny, smooth, talkative? Would it like some extra eyes? Draw us a picture or send us a photo of your new friend, and we'll print a menagerie of them in an upcoming issue of Ask. See the "Make Your Own Pet Rock!" contest winners here!

  1. Your contest entry must be your very own work. Ideas and words should not be copied.
  2. Be sure to include your name, age, and full address on your entry.
  3. Only one entry per person, please.
  4. If you want your work returned, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
  5. Your
     entry must be signed by a parent or legal guardian, saying it’s your
     own work and that no one helped you. For information on the Children’s
     Online Privacy Protection Act, you or an adult can visit the Policy
     page at www.cricketmag.com.
  6. Your entry must be received by August 31, 2009. We will publish the winning entries in an upcoming issue of Ask.
